In this webinar, BALANCE Primary Therapist Jennifer Nelson, MS MHC, MHC-LP will help participants address the major factors that maintain an eating disorder and how to facilitate insight from these thoughts and behaviors.

Jennifer Nelson, MS MHC, MHC-LP
Jennifer is a Primary Therapist at BALANCE eating disorder treatment center. She received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Counseling Education and Supervision. She is researching eating disorder behaviors and how they relate to cultural identity. Jennifer has experience providing individual and group psychotherapy to adults. Additionally, she has experience working with adults with obsessive compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. Jennifer has presented at local and international conference on treating OCD with Exposure Response Prevention Therapy.
Jennifer approaches her work and clients with authenticity, compassion, and empathy. She approaches psychological understanding from a biopsychosocial perspective and believes that behavioral interventions are the foundation of change. She utilizes principles and interventions from ERP, CBT, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness. Jennifer is committed to providing collaborative and comprehensive treatment. Her primary goal is to “work herself out of a job” by helping clients not only achieve their therapeutic goals but help them acquire knowledge and skills that will support and continue their wellness independent of a therapeutic setting.
